How do people go to school full time and work full time?

My first year of school I was working full time while taking 3-4 classes. It was sooo difficult. I fell really behind, procrastinated a lot, and pretty much turned in every assignment the day it was due. I had to drop one class because it was too difficult and I couldn’t even do any tutoring because the hours were during my work hours.

Now starting this year, I told myself I would stay on top of things, even whilst working full time. And what do you know, after the first week I managed to start falling behind..

Well only 3 weeks into classes I ended up quitting my job and have a 2 weeks break In between until I start my new job. And oh my gosh, it is SO NICE to have ample time to do my classes. Albeit I am spending nearly all day working on my schoolwork.

The new job I’m starting will be part time for now which will be nice cause I’ll have 3-4 days a week to still devote to homework which is more then enough time I’ve ever had.

I am someone who has to pretty much work full time to survive, in tandem with being in school, but for now I’m in a bit of a position where I can go down to part time during the winter at least. Even then, money will still be a bit tight but manageable (I hope).

Im realizing that being in school is like a full time job in and of itself. Im starting to worry how I’ll be able to attend school full time and work full time in the future. I have to do full time hours to receive financial aid, plus I want to be graduated within the correct time frame. But, moral of my point- how does one successfully and non-stressfully do full time school with full time work? I’m realizing there’s no way I could actually successfully do that again.

I wish there was some form of financial assistance for full time students so you don’t have to worry about working full time and can afford to live and focus on your studies.
