Port Murray, New Jersey

Where to even begin with Vivian and Simon’s wedding day?! From the first time Vivian reached out to me about the vision for her wedding, I knew it was going to be something special. High school sweethearts and avid world travelers, these two initially planned an epic destination wedding in Portugal — but unfortunately, 2020 had other plans. They canceled their Portugal wedding and started from square one, in search of something totally different and unique to them.
As Vivian tells it, “We decided that we still wanted to salvage our plans and turned to the idea of a local wedding in NJ instead (at least for the time being). I was randomly googling European weddings in NJ and came across a blurry image of a lavender farm which, to my surprise, happened to be Orchard View Lavender Farm here in New Jersey. We met with the sweetest owners of the property, Monica and Jim, who we fell in love with and their passion to build such a magical and whimsical gem of a farm.”
Vivian and Simon drew inspiration from French Provincial style, and incorporated antique and European elements throughout the day — as well as lots and lots of florals! All of the thoughtful details were to die for, and it was nothing short of magical to see their vision finally come to life two years later.
“Our vision for the wedding was inspired by European/French Provence lavender mixed with Bridgerton vibes (antique pieces and decor, lots of floral and leafy touches, lawn games, macarons) to enhance the beauty and magic of the lavender farm. We wanted to stay true to ourselves for our wedding and really make it our own. We knew we couldn’t have a wedding without some of our favorites things: sushi, bubble tea, abundance of desserts (cake, macarons, ice cream), and lots of photo ops throughout the property.”
It was truly an incredible day celebrating these two, from the absolutely perfect weather and beautiful light to the palpable joy and love expressed by their guests. The lavender farm was most stunning setting for portraits, and it is so sweet that these two will always be able to visit the place where they said their vows and made their marriage official for years to come.
Congratulations to sweet Vivian and Simon, I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!
