Just like gnomes get a lot of hate at times for being small and supposedly awful looking in mogs, Kul’tirans have their issues but with fatness. This just motivates me to play such races even more. In warmode, it is extra satisfying taking down someone as a small gnome. I’d imagine it would be fun wearing skimpy mogs as Kul’tiran because of how triggered people get over it.
But that’s the issue, even you who say you like to play the Kul’tiran females say it’s because you like that people find them unappealing. I’ve leveled quite a few characters in last few months, on both Horde side and Alliance, and what I see nearly every dungeon on Horde side is 1-4 Zandalari in my group, sometimes full group, sometimes just 1, or 2-3, but always Zandalari. On Alliance side I rarely see a Kul’tiran, female even less so, and it’s almost always a druid using a feral/boomkin form.
My point is, Kul’tirans did not do too well, if their reasoning was to add some diversity in Azeroth, to have Kul’tirans represent chunky people, why did they have to make it look unattractive? If I was fat, and after all the years of playing WoW I finally saw models which were also fat, I’d want them done well, their fat being used as their strength, and their body still having shape to it, female Kul’tiran lacks that.
You can’t really deny people like their race to be attractive, I mean like majority of players out there go and play female blood elf, female human, female night elf, female draenei, whatever race looks “hot” to them, so I feel like Kul’tiran could’ve had their way of being hot, so what if they’re big and chunky, they can still be made attractive.
Just to be clear on the hips area again, the thing with female Kul’tiran is that their lower back is pretty much straight, like lower back connects with hips in straight line and then from hips legs go down in nearly straight line, instead of having a noticeable curve. This does matter when you’re playing your character, as you’re not having 1st person view, you look from behind, and if your character’s shape looks pretty “unreal”, doesn’t really to appeal to people.
Give the Kul’tirans the recognition they deserve. I saw a lot of nice ideas on reddit, don’t be ashamed to listen to community Blizzard, lot of game developers do and their playerbase loves them for it.
